Independence Day is a terrific time to visit Greer. If being 30 degrees cooler than the hottest parts of Arizona wasn’t enough to draw you in, there’s a lot of action being around here and greater Greer.
Get things fired up on the morning of 4th of July with the Greer Fire District team serving up flapjacks at the Butterfly Lodge Museum. But don’t linger too long – you’ll miss a good ol’ fashion smalltown parade a short drive away in Eagar. Head back to Greer to rest by one of the local lakes. Once you’re recharged, head back down to to check out the Round Valley Rodeo – one of Arizona’s oldest – celebrating its 114th year.
If you’re not worn out from all of that, check out the dancing at the rodeo grounds and food vendors. The good folks of Round Valley cap off this crazy, festive day with a spectacular free fireworks show up at the Springerville Municipal Airport. Stake out your spot early to take it all in as the glow of the day slips behind the beautiful White Mountains on the western horizon.
Experience the BEST OF THE WHITE MOUNTAINS
